 Our Behavioral-Medical Program

For over 30 years AdvoServ has been well known for its services to individuals with developmental disabilities who have significant behavioral challenges. In programs located in Florida, Delaware and New Jersey, individuals of all ages have received effective and humane treatment for problems such as severe aggression, self injury and property destruction that have defied all previous attempts at remediation. Through these efforts, countless people have been able to live their lives without the incapacitating conditions and restrictions previously associated with their behavioral issues.

Based on this long and successful history with behavioral challenges, AdvoServ is now adding a new component to its services: Treatment for individuals who experience both behavioral and medical concerns. This program is currently located in Florida and is anticipated for New Jersey as well. It serves individuals whose significant behavioral challenges require expert and intensive programmatic treatment, and who are also experiencing medical conditions for which ongoing professional medical care is needed. For example, individuals currently served in the Florida program display behavioral problems such as aggression and self-injury and also manifest medical issues such as insulin dependent diabetes, seizure disorders, and recurrent injuries from self-injury.

With the advent of this new AdvoServ program, it is no longer necessary to make a choice between behavioral and medical services. Typically programs are capable of addressing one need, but not the other. Now both services are combined in one program, which practices the highest professional standards in each. AdvoServ’s Behavioral-Medical Program is located in Mount Dora, Florida in a beautiful resort-like setting. It functions year round and features a full array of services, including behavior analysis, full medical care, education, vocation, communication and recreation. This small program has a rich complement of highly trained staff who are committed to quality care and support.

We invite you to contact us for more information. We stand ready to meet a need not typically available, and serve those whose challenges exceed the boundaries of conventional services.
